DRAWING THE PPORTRAIT IN CHARCOAL/PASTEL WORKSHOP /Jamie BallayTuesday, June 16th - Wednesday, June 17thfrom 1:30 - 4:30 PM2 Days
Class Fee: $80
Using a combination of dry materials this class will explore the process of picture making through the topic of portraiture. We will work directly from observation and photo references to study the structure of the head and consider the issues of likeness and form. We will work with various approaches such as thumbnails and Notans to explore composition. The work will embrace quick studies and move into more considered projects. Along the way we will discuss creating compelling compositions and utilizing color to create engaging images.

REFUND POLICY: To receive a refund, students must submit their request at least 2 weeks before the first class. No refunds or transfers are guaranteed after this time. To withdraw from a class, you are required to email ChastainArts@AtlantaGA.gov and include your name, the class name, and your reason for withdrawal. The option to accept an account credit for the class withdrawal is preferred. If a withdrawal/refund is requested after 2 weeks prior to or after the class has begun, a $30 administration fee will be deducted and only an account credit will be processed to be used for future class registrations, clay purchases, and future purchases in our gift shop & gallery. If a class is running at minimum enrollment, we cannot process refunds or credits within 1 week of the class starting. If you register for a class after the session has begun, only an account credit will be processed if a withdrawal is requested. Anyone registered for a figure class with a model will be required to pay the model fee on the first day of class with cash or check to the instructor. Even if you request a withdrawal after the first day of class, you will be required to pay the model fee calculated based on enrollment on the first-class meeting. The Chastain Arts Center is not responsible for classes missed due to student absences and the student is not eligible to receive a refund or credit for any missed classes due to a student absence.
