The Quince Años Celebration is an event in which a fifteen-year old young lady renews her baptismal promises, gives thanks to God for her life, family and community, and deepens her relationship with God. ***The family should be registered parishioners of SVDP Catholic Church*** -Quinceañera should have received the sacraments of Baptism, Reconciliation, and First Communion. -If a Quinceañera has not received her sacraments, they must be enrolled in OCIA-AC, and must receive their sacraments prior to their Quince Años Celebration. -Quinceañeras should be registered in some faith formation like OCIA-AC, Youth Group, or Confirmation Preparation classes. -Our preparation involves 3 weekly 1 1/2 hour classes and 1 parish service project that meets on Wednesday's in JAC 1 from 6:30pm - 8:00pm. Both Quincenera and parent attendance is required. There are three (3) options: March 4th - March 25th; May 6th - 20th; August 12th - 26th. -Quince Años mass at SVDP are on Saturdays at 1:00 p.m., unless there is another parish commitment, and mass will be in English. ***Quinceañeras must go to reconciliation one week before the mass.*** -Appropriate dress attire is required of the Quinceañera and her court. If the dress is strapless or spaghetti straps, a shawl must be worn inside the church. No mini skirts. -There will be one practice inside the church before the celebration. -The mass will be one hour for ceremony and 15 minutes permitted for pictures.
