About this event
---Instructor: Keely Kirk--- As we continue to build our improv skills we will also step into the spotlight and discover the magic of creating songs in the moment! This class is designed for experienced improvisers ready to expand their toolkit and explore the playful, high-energy world of long form and musical improv. If you already know how to build strong scenes, connect with scene partners, and think on your feet—now it’s time to add rhythm, melody, and movement to your improv! We’ll start by reviewing core improv skills—connection, listening, and emotional honesty—while adding the unique challenges of musical storytelling. Improvising melodies and lyrics that support your scenes; understanding song types (openings, duets, group numbers, etc.); transitioning smoothly between dialogue and song; working with your ensemble to create dynamic, spontaneous musical moments. Completion of Improv Level 3 or higher (or equivalent experience). Comfort performing on stage and collaborating in group scenes. Ability to pick up on visual and physical cues and move confidently in performance. (No class 2/25).
