About this event

Description

As commander of the Continental Army during the Revolution, George Washington was essentially charged with the defense of the new American nation. But who would be in charge of defending this critically important man? Come join us as public historian Mary Cooper presents a lecture on the Commander in Chief Guard that was tasked with serving as Washington’s personal guard during the war. Help us commemorate America’s 250th anniversary by learning the lesser-known stories of these men, and the challenges they faced at Washington’s side in the struggle for Independence. Having trouble registering? Please call 703-549-2997 or email carlyle@nvrpa.org.
