ACSC’s Learn-to-Keelboat class will teach you how to sail a keelboat in the Bay and marina while building your skills for bigger sailing adventures. Two weekends, 24 hours of training, certified instructors, personal flotation devices, and safety equipment provided! Come join us! Boat: Colgate 26 Skills: Tying knots, leading a crew of sailors, docking and close-quarters maneuvers, tacking and gybing, identifying points of sail, knowing the parts of the boat, anchoring under sail in an emergency, adjusting sail trim appropriately, crew-overboard recovery, and keelboat systems operations (radio, engine, electrical, and emergency equipment). For your class, be sure to bring: - Closed-toe shoes that can get wet - A jacket - Towel and change of clothes (including dry shoes) – You may get splashed while sailing, so dry clothes for afterward are recommended. - Lunch, snacks, and a water bottle - Sunblock - Sunglasses and/or a brimmed hat - Your sense of adventure! ;) ACSC will provide: - Life vests - Sailboat - Instructors with US Sailing and First Aid/CPR certifications
