Instructor: Justin Guy is a Jean Laney Heritage Award winner and a native of Edgefield. He works primarily at the Old Edgefield Pottery, producing high-quality historical pottery by digging clay and firing in a wood-burning kiln. He also helps run the Tompkins Genealogical Library at the Edgefield County Archives to preserve Edgefield's History. Description: This course will focus on the three female operatives working for the O.S.S. Session 1: Virginia Hall: America’s first and arguably the greatest spy of the Second World War. Session 2: Oddette Sansom, a French-British spy captured by the Gestapo and sent to Ravensbrück concentration camp. Session 3: “The White Mouse”, Nancy Wake, a courageous and adventurous woman who helped end the German occupation of France in the Second World War.
