Instructor: Bob Hartung started collecting stamps at age 9. After joining a local stamp club, he became a show-and-bourse dealer. He then ventured into the mail-order business, eventually building a customer base of over 1,100. He was a charter member of the National Stamp Dealers Association and several other national and international philatelic organizations. Description: In this course, we will discuss the history of stamp collecting, the current state of the hobby and other pertinent areas. Students are encouraged to bring their album or individual U.S. or foreign stamps that they would like evaluated or identified. During class and after class, the instructor can offer suggestions on how collections can be disposed of for those interested in this option.
