About this event
MOTORCYCLE RIDER AND SAFETY COURSE: POLICY & REQUIREMENTS There will be NO REFUNDS, TRANSFERS, or DISCOUNTS for these courses. The Basic Rider Motorcycle Safety Course consists of the online portion (completed prior to the first in-person class) and two in-person riding class days. The online portion - the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) ePackage1 eCourse (5-hour course) will provide students with the basic knowledge to begin riding a motorcycle. Two in-person riding class days (total of about 11 hours of riding) - the course is designed for someone with no motorcycle experience. The focus is on developing basic riding skills: clutch and throttle coordination, straight-line riding, braking, turning, and shifting. Successful completion of the Basic Rider Motorcycle Safety Course and its knowledge and skills test will result in a riding test waiver by the Secretary of State. Prerequisite: the ability to ride a bicycle. Requirement: must have a valid email address on file with Adult Learning Services and a valid driver's license. Must complete the online ePackage1 eCourse prior to your course start date and bring the completion certificate, along with your riding gear, to the first class session. Link to the ePackage1 eCourse will be distributed by Adult Learning Services via email. Motorcycles for this course are provided by the LISD TECH Center. NOTE: This Basic Rider Course meets on Saturday and Sunday from 1 pm-7 pm.
