About this event

Description

The course will provide registrants with the knowledge to respond to emergencies in the home, community or workplace. A variety of topics are covered: how to access the EMS system; recognize and respond to airway, breathing and cardiovascular emergencies; bone, muscle, joint, head and spinal injuries; bleeding and shock; first aid for poisonings; environmental emergencies; and CPR/AED.

Blended Learning: Combines online learning and in-person skills session. Registration cut off is one week prior to the in-class date. The online component is distributed one week prior to the in-class session.

Candidates must have a valid email address to register. This comprehensive 15.5 hour course is comprised of an 8 hour online study session and a 7.5 hour in class skills evaluation session. The online portion of this program must be completed before the in-class portion.

Awards are issued to the candidate electronically through email. Certification of this award is for 3 years.

The online component is distributed one week prior to the in-class session.

Online content must be completed prior to the first in class day.

The following items must be purchased in order to participate

1 CPR pocket mask with a 1-way valve

6 pairs of latex-free gloves

2 roller gauzes

5 triangular bandages

10 gauze pads

1 golf pencil

1 silver mylar blanket.


You may choose to purchase a leadership kit containing these supplies at this facility or alternatively you may purchase on your own.

100 % attendance and participation are required.

Participants are asked to wear comfortable clothing to the course. All required texts and course materials are included in course fee. No refunds after online access granted. Awards are issued to the candidate electronically through email. Certification of this award is for 3 years.
