About this event

Description

Explore this century old and vibrantly creative tradition from Buenos Aires alongside a group of teen and adult string players.

Under the direction of acclaimed cellist Maxfield Wollam-Fisher, we’ll connect with contemporary composers, dancers, and trends in this visceral music. As an intergenerational ensemble, there is space for newer players learning rhythm and bowing styles as advancing students find many solos and unique challenges in Maxfield's tailored arrangements. Dive into DC's tango scene and be a part of an amazing global community of musicians!

Open to adults and students aged 15 and up who are comfortable reading music and ready to rethink everything they know about their sound and performance style!

For more information, contact Dr. Patrick LeStrange, Strings Department Chair, at plestrange@levinemusic.org or (202) 686-8000 x 1110.
