In this workshop we are making Christmas Ornaments! Great for your tree or as a gift. COST INCLUDES EQUIPMENT AND ALL MATERIALS. Cross-stitching is a needlepoint craft using tiny X’s to create larger patterns or pictures. Some patterns are simple like a word, a phrase, or a small character (Dumbo, Winnie the Pooh). Others are more complex creating a picture that has realism close to a painting or photograph. Once learned cross-stitching can be used to create many things such as framed gifts, Christmas ornaments, decorative pillow cases, hand towels, cards, book marks, coin purses, etc. It makes a great hobby and pastime, and can be a social activity. No previous skill required. What will be learned? Basic skills and techniques of cross-stitching: introducing tools, different kinds of stitches used in patterns, how to start, finish and change colors, a simple beginning pattern. A lot of what is learned is patience, resistance, maintaining an attention on detail. All things that are lacking in our face paced world of excessive action and screen time. Expect: A 2-3 hour workshop, where I will be demonstrating skills and helping individuals learn how to cross-stitch a pattern and finish it. Bring: I will be providing materials for the class, the cost of supplies will be included in the payment for the class. Ages 8 and up, adults welcome. Teacher: Clara Harris Email: firstname.lastname@example.org Family can attend together, please register the children & adults who will be participating and need materials. *Deposit paid in the cart at checkout. Remainder paid to teacher in cash or check on first day of class.
