Louisville Race the Bridge Challenge

The former Southern Indiana Triathlon has been renamed and relocated to downtown Louisville. Swim the Ohio River, ride a fully closed bike route and then run over the bridge to Indiana. Sprint and Olympic distances are available, making this a great race for all levels.

This race is flat and fast. But at altitude and surrounded by stellar athletes, it is one challenging race. Triathletes begin with a potentially chilly swim in Boulder Reservoir, followed by a fast bike course and a run along mostly dirt roads. After the race, check out El Dorado Canyon, the iconic Boulder Flatirons or head into town where you'll find a casual atmosphere and lots of good food.

Both the Olympic and 70.3 distance races begin with a swim in Lake Delton. From there, racers bike through the countryside and along the Wisconsin River and the finish with a run around Lake Delton. After the race, head to one of the dozen attractions in the area, including the largest concentration of water parks in the world.

The 112-mile bike course is considerably difficult, exploring areas used in the 2010 Winter Olympics and showcasing stunning mountain peaks along the Sea-to-Sky Highway. The race concludes at the Whistler Olympic Plaza, the finish of a scenic day. After the race, head to the bustling metropolis of Vancouver for a day or two of shopping and sightseeing.

Racers will swim in Gray's Lake, bike through historic Des Moines and finish with a run in Gray's Lake Park.
5150 Galveston & Lonestar Sprint Triathlons

This event offers two choices, a sprint and an Olympic course. Both distances begin with a swim in the protected Offats Bayou. Olympic-distance triathletes bike along the Gulf Coast of Texas and then run in an out-and-back course on Galveston Island. This is a flat and fast course. Be prepared for the wind.

The setting for this race couldn't be better. For one, it's in Mexico. Then there's the beach and the crystal-clear water. The Reefs of Cozumel National Park will host the swim course. After the race, make sure to go back and check out these world famous coral reefs.
