Skechers Persistence 2

Skechers Persistence

About: The Skechers GO RUN Persistence 2 is a versatile running shoe designed for comfort and durability. With its lightweight mesh upper and responsive Hyper Burst midsole, the Persistence 2 offers a breathable, cushioned ride suitable for various running styles and distances. The shoe's Goodyear® DuraWeb outsole provides excellent traction and durability, making it a reliable choice for both road and light trail running. Whether you're a casual runner or a seasoned athlete, the Persistence 2 offers a comfortable and supportive experience.

I love the great arch support and the Goodyear tire rubber on the sole makes me feel this will last a long time.
L.R. from Alabama

Things We Liked:

"This shoe is very comfortable for people with high arches or needing more arch support."

"This is the most comfortable running shoe I've worn. I've been wearing them for daily jogs and general wear-around shoes."

Areas for Improvement:

"The Persistence takes me a little bit of time to get used to (around 5 min) due to the high arch support. Not uncomfortable, but something I notice each and every time."

"The laces seem to fray easily, and the fabric around the ankles retains water."

Final Thoughts

The Skechers Go Run Persistence running shoe has garnered attention for its blend of comfort and performance. One standout feature is its arch support, which many runners appreciate for providing stability and reducing fatigue during longer runs. Goodyear rubber soles enhance traction and durability, making these shoes suitable for various surfaces.

However, the arch support may be a double-edged sword. Some may find it to be on the higher side, which can be uncomfortable for those with flatter feet or who prefer a more neutral feel. It's important for potential buyers to consider their own foot shape and preferences when evaluating this model. The Go Run Persistence is a solid choice for runners seeking comfort and support, especially those who benefit from added arch elevation. Just keep in mind that the arch might not suit everyone’s needs.

Skechers Supersonic Max AT

Skechers Supersonic Max A/T

About: The Skechers GO RUN Supersonic Max A/T can be classified more as a beginner-friendly trail running shoe that delivers on both comfort and performance. Its cushioned midsole and A/T traction system make it ideal for those transitioning from road running to trails, providing a smooth ride on various terrains without sacrificing stability. Whether you're exploring local trails or embarking on your first ultramarathon, the Supersonic Max A/T is a versatile choice for entry-level trail runners.

Very comfy but room for improvement
M.T. from Colorado

Things We Liked:

"Extremely comfortable!"

"The cushion these provide is nice to have on longer trails or road runs. "

Areas for Improvement:

"The underfoot is just not as stable as I would have liked it to be."

"I would probably decrease the bulkiness of the upper aspect of the shoe because it tends to take away from the shoe's responsiveness. "

Final Thoughts

I don't think Sketches making a trail running shoe was on anybody's bingo card, but here we are. The shoe itself would probably be one of the best options for an entry-level trail runner with a palatable price tag. A seasoned trail runner or long-distance hiker might have some qualms with it, but if this is your first trail shoe or running shoe, you are in good hands.

The shoe feels like a softer version of a Hoka Challenger and has many similar attributes. If Sketchers could update the foam to be lighter while maintaining the same level of cushion, this shoe would be a stellar shoe for an amazing price.
