6 Reasons You Need to Run the Utah Valley Marathon

4. It has a killer post-race party.

A great marathon is nothing without an equally great post-race celebration, and the Clarke Capital Utah Valley Marathon's party is one to remember.

Forget the boring bananas and chocolate milk—this race has Cinnabon, Jamba Juice and more. And if you set a new PR, make sure to find the PR Bell, which you can ring to let everyone know about your incredible accomplishment.

5. There's a race for everyone…even your dog.

Not every runner wants to log a full marathon, and luckily, this race has options. For anyone who wants a shorter distance, you can opt for the half marathon or 10K.

Did you bring the whole family? There's a 1K Fun Run for kids and even a 5K race your dog can join called the K9 Dash.

The Dash is a great tune-up before the next day's main event, but if Fido can't make it, you can still run the race solo.

6. You can easily make a whole trip out of it.

Marathon

Who doesn’t love a good destination race? With five national parks packed with stunning scenery, Utah is not only an affordable vacation option, but offers all the big excitement of a major race.

Around 30 percent of Utah Valley marathoners are from outside the state, with all 50 states typically represented, along with 12 to 15 countries.

If you're coming from out of town, make sure to visit Robert Redford's famous Sundance Mountain Resort, make a trip to Mount Timpanogos Cave National Monument and return to Bridal Veil Falls to cap off your accomplishment.
