About this event

Join us for the 2nd annual Ruck 4 Freedom!

 

Ruck 4 Freedom is an honorary Ruck where the community comes together with our Active Duty Military, Veterans and First Responders to do something uncomfortable to show our Armed Forces the gratitude we have for our Freedom.

Based on a Military tradition, participants will have the option to wear a weighted backpack and participate in a 5K, or 10K Ruck Walk. For those that don't want to wear the ruck you can sign up to run or walk the 5K or 10K.

 

NEW for 2024! We will have a Half Marathon distance!

 

RUCK 4 FREEDOM will give all of us the opportunity to do something hard to give back to those who have given so much.

As a community we are strong, our Freedom is safe, and this will give us the opportunity to show our service members, family and friends that we are willing to give our time and be a little uncomfortable to say, thank you.

I invite you to join us, be a sponsor, create a team, and be part of the day that will show our gratitude for the freedom we all love.

The official charity of RUCK 4 FREEDOM is HOPE Mental Health Foundation. Funds will be used to benefit the mental health of soldiers, and their families through the gift of therapy. This event will also contribute to Outdoor Experience For All a Foundation that provides outdoor adventures for our Veterans.

Mail-in Registration and Virtual Ruck Registration 

To register by mail please complete and return our Mail-in Registration Form! Please make checks payable to StartLine Racing.

Can't make it to this year's event but still want to participate? This year will feature a Virtual Ruck. A virtual ruck can take place at any location. You can walk, use the treadmill, or participate in another ruck. You can go your race at your pace wherever you like. All virtual ruck participants will receive a custom event finisher's medal and custom event shirt. Please note that your shirt and medal will be mailed out following the event on November 16, 2024. Prior to the event all virtual participants will receive an email with instructions on how to submit your time.

Virtual Registrations are restricted to US addresses only. If you reside outside of the US and wish to participate please contact StartLine Racing at info@startlineracing.com

Custom Event Dri-Fit Tech T-Shirt for all participants. 

Age Group Awards for Top Three in all Age Groups. Our age groups are the following:

  • 8 & Under, 9 & 10, 11-13, 14-17, 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 & over

Pre- and Post-Race "Runner's Brunch" (granola bars, fruit, water, Gatorade, etc)

Chip Timed with Real Time Results and Photos on our Website or Mobile App (on Apple and Google)

Event managed by StartLine Racing. Club SLR discounts do not apply.

Please note any race related items (shirts, medals, etc.) will NOT be mailed to those that do not attend.

 

 

Race Day Information 

Race Day Registration will be available beginning at 7:00am.

We accept cash, and credit cards on race day (checks are no longer accepted)

Race day pricing will be:

  • 5K - $50
  • 10K - $60
  • Half Marathon - $90

Due to the nature of the course, strollers and wheelchairs are not recommended.

Leashed pet friendly event.

No motorized vehicles, bicycles, wagons, etc. are allowed on the ruck course.

Due to the common start/finish line, there is no bag check for this event.

This event will take place rain or shine. There are no refunds or transfers due to weather.

For those participating in the Ruck, you will need to provide your own weighted backpack.

Water Stations and Course Support

 

Water and Gatorade will be located at the following locations:

 

  • Half Marathon: Miles 1.25, 2.92, 4.59, 6.10, 7.6, 9.04, 10.82, and 12.5

  • 10K - Miles 1.25, 2.92, 4.59, and 5.6

  • 5K - Mile 1.25 and 2.5

 

GU Gels will be available for half marathon runners at miles 6.1 and 7.6 

 

Restrooms will be located at:

 

  • Half Marathon - Miles 1.25, 4.59, 9.04, and 12.5

  • 10K - Miles 1.25 and 4.95

 

 

 

Packet Pickup Opportunities 

Packet Pick-up is available on Friday, November 15th from 3-6pm at TBD

Race Day Packet Pick-Up will be available beginning at 7:00am.
