5. Build a Support System
There's always strength in numbers, and even more so when you're beginning a new exercise program. Your support system should include every willing person--family members, friends, a personal trainer, a group fitness class, your neighbors, co-workers and anyone else.
"The more people in your support system, the more likely it is you'll stay accountable and committed to your exercise routine and goals," Robinson says. "From those inevitable days where you don't feel like working out, to the days when it's too cold or hot outside and you just want to stay curled up in bed, having a strong support system will help motivate you to keep pushing."
