7 Favorite Non-Cycling Apps for Cyclists

cyclists

As cyclists, there are a handful of apps that reign supreme. Depending on the brand of cycling computer you use to track your rides, you likely either have Garmin Connect, Polar Flow or Wahoo ELEMNT downloaded to your phone. Take this one step further, and your data from these apps is pushed to Strava—the most popular cycling-related app out there. It's perfect for keeping track of your rides and yearly totals, and allows you to compete against local cyclists (and your friends) for KOMs and leaderboard standings.

Surprisingly though, the App Store (or Google Play) offers more than just apps for people who like to ride bikes—and many of which are perfect complements for cyclists that are deep in a training block.

From yoga-related apps to sleep trackers and everything in-between, here are seven of our favorite non-cycling apps for cyclists.

Daily Yoga

Ready to get bendy? Counteract the repetitive motion of pedaling a bicycle with Daily Yoga, an app that offers guided yoga classes for both beginners and advanced yogis. Choose a class that aligns with your personal fitness goals and timeframe, follow the instructor's directions, and keep track of your practice—all within the app itself.

Pair this with the health assistant and the daily health insights, and you'll be able to understand your body and adapt depending on where you're at in the month.

Pear features real-time, hands-free personal training to help you reach (and track) your fitness goals, with each workout adapting to your individual performance and cumulating toward an end result.

This is a bit of a shameless plug, but it's been proven that low-impact sports like cycling can have a potentially negative effect on bone density.
