Theme: Black Foodways & Culinary Traditions This week is all about food, culture, and community! Campers will explore Gullah food traditions, learn about nutrition, and participate in hands-on, no-cook food-making experiences. Each day, they’ll create a recipe that will go into their “Book of Joy”, a collection of the week’s culinary creations. The week will end with a Gullah-style picnic at a scenic Charleston park, where campers will share their food creations and reflect on their experiences. Key Activities: Hands-on food preparation, exploring Gullah flavors, creating a personalized recipe book, cultural food discussions, and a celebratory Gullah picnic.
