About this event

Learn the basics of watercolor in this beginner course. We will cover the principles of color theory, color mixing, paint layering, and texture through still life, landscapes, wildlife, and more. You will be able to freely express yourself with a new painting every class or take your time with a passion project. Whether you are a practicing artist or would just like to get your feet wet, you'll leave the class with a new outlook on watercolor painting. Materials List: Daniel Smith (high quality) or Cotman (affordable) watercolors Colors: Ultramarine Blue, Alizarin Crimson, Lemon Yellow, Burnt Sienna, Sap Green, Indigo, Burnt umber Synthetic watercolor color brushes size 12, 8, 4, 2 round 9x12 Fluid watercolor paper, cold press Hb pencils(2) Pencil sharpener Kneaded eraser 10 well paint palette (ceramic or plastic) The Inkstone on 2424 Telegraph near the UC Berkeley campus will have supplies available.
