Northwest MedWAR
MedWAR is short for Medical Wilderness Adventure Race. It is a unique event that combines wilderness medical challenges with the growing sport of adventure racing. The race was also developed as a tool for teaching and testing the knowledge, skills, and techniques of wilderness medicine, and for promoting teamwork and collegiality among competitors. MedWAR is sanctioned by North American Educational Adventure Racing (NAEAR).
Pacific Northwest Wilderness Medicine (PNWM) has partnered with North American Educational Adventure Racing (NAEAR) to bring the Medical Wilderness Adventure Race back to Washington State for the 4th year in a row. The inaugural MedWAR was developed and hosted by emergency physicians and medical students from the Medical College in Georgia in the fall of 2000. Since then, MedWAR Challenge has grown to include races all over the country every year. PNWM is excited to host our 4th MedWAR, this time set in the beautiful Southwest Washington this fall.
Registration is opening August 20th. There are limited spots available, so be sure to act fast. We can't wait to see you in-person on race day.
Race Format: Teams of four run and navigate through trails and beautiful forest scenery to find challenging medical simulations and answer questions along the way.

Schedule (subject to change): Check in begins at 7am. Racer meeting at 7:30, race begins 8am. Celebration and dinner to follow race completion.
Camping information: Racers and guests are welcome to join us at Rock Creek Campground in Yacolt Burn State Forest.

Deadline: September 20th, 2024 for guaranteed t-shirts for your team, otherwise registrations accepted until October 4th. After this date, contact us. Entries may be accepted based on availability.

*Racers will have the opportunity to submit their T-shirt size upon registration to receive an exclusive Northwest MedWAR 2024 event shirt. Disclaimer: please register early to ensure that your shirt can arrive by race day.
Cancellation policy: 90% refund will be offered for cancellations before September 1st. 50% refund offered until September 20th. After that no refunds will be issued, but you may be able to use your registration fee the following year. If only one member of your team cannot attend, you can race with 3 members.
