Photo Journaling (6 sessions) Adult | Beginner-Advanced Instructor: Laura Bendoly Tuesdays, January 14 – February 18 10:00am – 12:00pm In this class, students will create a photo gallery bound inside a journal with accompanying written meditations. Photos can be still life, landscape, street life, night photography, architecture, etc. As we select the ten-twelve final photos, which the class will workshop and improve as a group, we will narrate the images with prose passages prompted by visual cues within the photography. Our finished product is a gallery-journal that commemorates our photo journey in the natural and urban environment, mixing the familiar and the surprising situations in which we live. Students print a selection of images each week (two to three) and bind them into a durable paper-bound book. You can use a digital camera or mobile camera phone (I use an iphone 13). Participants will download Snapseed photo editing software, which I will instruct from, and students will need time enough to take a couple hours between class meetings to shoot photos, make initial edits and compose writing.
