National Lifeguard Pool Recertification

Description

This 4 hour course/exam will review/examine the NL Pool course (NL Core and Pool). Participants must give the examiner the prerequisites before the course starts. Prerequisites are NL Pool (or NL Core and Pool). All participants must bring an Updated Alert Manual with the Alert Insert featuring the new or newly emphasized technical content. The Alert Insert is available without charge by visiting the Lifesaving Manitoba web site to print the required document. (http://lifesaving.mb.ca/files/98AlertInsert_PRINT.pdf).
Candidates should review the Alert Insert, make yourself familiar with the revised requirements which include a fitness component, and prepare to be evaluated on the mandatory recertification items.
Completion Criteria:• Attend and participate in 100 % of the course.• Successfully demonstrate competency in required skills, activities and final evaluation.
Pre-Course Requirements: (participants must provide qualification first day of class)National Lifeguard Pool Award or Red Cross Pool Lifeguard Award• Certification in Standard First Aid and CPR-C from one of the following agencies: - Red Cross, St. John Ambulance, Lifesaving Society, Criti-Care, Safety Services Manitoba, or Heart Beat Inc. Manitoba.
Program includes classroom and water activities - 100 % attendance and participation are required.
Awards are issued to the candidate by mail. Certification of this award is for 2 years.

You may choose to purchase a leadership kit containing these supplies at this facility or alternatively you may purchase on your own.
National Lifeguard awards are mailed to successful candidates by the Lifesaving Society.
