Art from the Heart with Friends and Family: Abstract Paintingw/Sandi Neiman LovitzAn eight (8) session courseNo class on 2/15Come alone or sign up with a friend. Open to students 10 years and older, this is a great way to spend time with family.
Painting is about expression. Life offers so many challenges and having a place to learn how to release all those feelings with smiles is "worth its weight in gold”. Free your creative juices no matter how little or how much experience you have because there are always endless possibilities to discover. You just have to let go. Whether you paint abstract, figure, or still life, you can add expression to your art by starting using colors you were afraid to use, making silly marks, and doing things with the innocence of a child. No wrongs or rights, just having fun and letting go. If you want to learn how to express your inner thoughts and sharpen your skills at the same time, this is a great class for you. We will talk about composition, acrylic techniques, space, and rhythm while having a really good time doing it.
Materials:
1 ….2 pack Acrylic paper painting pad… US art supply ( Amazon)1….. 2 pack 18” x 24” stretched canvases( Amazon)1…. 30” x 30” stretched canvas or larger ie: 24 x 36….(Amazon)“STRETCHED CANVASES CAN BE EXPENSIVE……I use 1 1/2 in” depth… the 7/8” depth is less expensive… The splined gallery wrapped are less expensive than the back stapled”
Acrylic Paints…. I have tried all of these:…Sargent acrylic paint,,Liquitex Basics paint, (I like the Basics Set by Liquitex because it has a lot of different colors in very small amounts so that you can try out .)_ all of these are on( Amazon)I have used all of the aboveMilo Acrylics and and Amazon Basics acrylics (never tried but look like good deals on AmazonMy favorite ..but more expensive…Nova Color Paint which is as good any profes-sional acrylic( Liquitex or Golden) It can only be ordered from their website….and does charge shippingMake sure that you get a bigger container or tube of titanium white acrylic paint
Stabilo…The Woody 3 in one pencil..come in a 10 pack or an 18 (full set pack has a sha) (Amazon)
KWIK STIX… 24 count solid Tempera Stix (AMAZON)
Silicone Paint Shapers
Brushes from 1/4 inch to 4 inch flat acrylic brushes
Palette Knives if you want
Scissors, masking tape
Plastic Adjustable Spray Bottle for water( AMAZON)
Large palette paper or use “CALPALMY” 12” x 16” or larger clear acrylic sheets for palettes I use this sometimes (AMAZON).
AlcoholThick colored pencils
