This class will focus on warp weighted weaving in the Viking Age. The Warp Weighted Loom is an ancient technique of weaving dating back into the BC eras. During this class, its history and use will be presented, including differing regional techniques and examples. In addition, there will be time to provide hands on experience creating your own woven sample, which could be used as a scarf, table runner, etc.
Class involves repetitive hand movements. Students should bring small scissors. Class price includes materials fee. **Students can follow up this beginner class with The Warp Weighted Loom: The Next Steps on June 21 & 22.**
