Propagating new plants from our existing plants can reap favorable rewards – free plants! For some plants, cuttings and other forms of propagation can fail, especially for azaleas, rhododendrons, camellias, and other woody plants. Unlock the secret to another effective propagation method at “Air Layering: Propagating Difficult-to-Root Plants” with Meadowlark Horticulturist Sarah Causey.
During the workshop, you’ll learn:
- What air layering entails and the scientific principles behind it.
- Which plants are best for air layering and why.
- The optimal timing for conducting air layering to maximize success.
- Step-by-step demonstrations on how to perform air layering.
- Ample time for questions and answers, ensuring you leave with a thorough understanding of the technique.
As a bonus, each participant will receive an air layering take-home kit containing all the necessary supplies and detailed instructions to kick-start your propagation journey right away.
Space is limited, so secure your spot by registering online today! The workshop location is a 7-minute walk from our Visitor Center at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens. For any inquiries or assistance, please email jmaloney@nvrpa.org.
