Welcome to Fall 2024 maintenance registration for the Nechako Valley Swim Club (Session date: Oct. 1, 2024-Dec. 14, 2024)! Information on groupings can be found by going to http://nechakovalleyswimclub.teampages.com and clicking on swimmer groups on the left hand side.
If you are new to the Nechako Otters, please contact nvsc.otters@gmail. com to determine if your swimmer needs a swim assessment prior to registering. Pups and Masters Group do not require assessments.
As a general minimum requirement, Development Group and up, swimmers must be able swim 25 meters (one length of the pool, in any stroke) without a floatation device and in deep water. They will also have to be able to swim multiple lengths in one session. This is not a requirement for PUPs.
New to PUPS requirement: Must be comfortable in the water, put at least mouth or nose in the water, and ability to move freely in the shallow part of the leisure pool.
Be sure to add the $35 BCSSA fee (insurance) if you were not registered in Summer 2024. This option will be available during the registration check-out.
Please remember that under BCSSA Fall/Winter guidelines:
Swimmers are only allowed to train for two coached hours per week! Attendance will be taken to ensure swimmers do not exceed this limit.
Some helpful tips when registering:
- Select "S” Swimmer when asked about BCSSA Swimmer’s Declaration. If you are 20 years old or over, select "O" swimmer.
- Select "WS" Swims in the fall, winter and summer. When asked “What best describes this swimmer?” If you swam with the club in the summer 2024
- Select "WW" Swims only in the fall and winter. Any new registrations as of October 2024.
- Select Speed Swimming when asked “What sport(s) does this athlete participate in the BCSSA?"
