Get a thorough introduction to the rich medium of encaustics as Amy Schilling leads you step-by-step through the process of creating luminous paintings with beeswax, oil paint and pigment. This encaustic workshop is for anyone wishing to tap into their creativity and is appropriate for artists of all levels. During the three-hour class, you will explore layering the beeswax to create depth by fusing each layer of translucent encaustic paint and create texture using tools and miscellaneous found objects. Each person is expected to leave with two small completed works of art.
