About this event
Discover the beauty and function of traditional Japanese embroidery with the Learn Sashiko: Visible Mending class. Sashiko has been used since the 1600s to reinforce and mend clothing with decorative stitching. Now, you can use this technique to give your clothes new life and a unique touch. Join experienced instructors Erica Furman and Joanie Schwarz at Joanie's studio and gallery, Atelier Telluride, in the heart of downtown Telluride. In this class, you'll learn the step-by-step basics of sashiko mending and discover how to bring new life to your favorite pieces of clothing or fabric. Please bring your articles of clothing or fabric to the class. Ideally, get something you want to reinforce, patch, or mend. The Ah Haa School will provide all the supplies and materials needed to complete your project. The class will be held at Atelier Telluride, 215 E Colorado Ave, Telluride.
