About this event
This is Alaska wilderness only accessible by boat. Beginning and ending in Valdez, the Ocean Watch will be your “mobile ski hut” for 8 days of sailing and skiing in the magnificent Prince William Sound. Enjoy being in remote bays surrounded by wildlife and having a dry, warm basecamp for this expedition. There’s nothing quite like spring skiing in Alaska - that small window of opportunity to take advantage of warmer temperatures and cruise over soft, corn-like snow. Prince William Bay is a natural paradise, where mountains and more than 40 glaciers fall into the sea, offering incredible possibilities for ski touring. Aboard the Ocean Watch we will cross this immense bay and ski the most beautiful peaks, sometimes admiring the bald eagles, emblematic of Alaska, and whales. We invite you to come and explore these unique and unforgettable spaces with us.
