Pickleball Ladder League (Skill Level 3.5 and Below)
No registrations will be accepted after 1/8.
Depending on the number of registered participants we may break the league into multiple divisions with one running from 6:15-7:10pm and another running from 7:15-8:10pm
This 18+ Pickleball League is offered in a 5-week ladder format where players get to play a match each week (3-4 games with rotating partners). Each set of games will help determine your rankings for the next week. This is a great format for both socializing and ensuring as much competitive parity as possible during the season. FAQ
Court ranking will be based on each player's cumulative points scored (this is the team score from each game) vs. total points possible (Percentage of Points or “POP”) averaged across games for all previously played games/weeks. The final rankings will be published after week 5, with the #1 and #2 players crowned the season co-champions. To rank #1 or #2, you must have been present for a minimum 4 of the 5 weeks, including the final week of the season. Don't worry, just track your team score each game on our provided scoresheet and we'll take care of the rest.
Examples of how weekly rankings work:
Select the top four ranked players and assign them to court #1.
Select the next four players and assign them to court #2 (then continue to courts 3 and 4 ).
Missing Players and Subs:
In instances where a court doesn't have 4 players:
A sub invited by the missing player may be used (their score will not count in the standings)
OR
A player registered for another division may sub i.e. a 6:15pm player can sub at 7:15 and vice versa. (their score will not be counted in the standings)
OR
If there is an odd number of total players and no sub available, each court, starting at the first court, will add a 5th player until all players are designated. (Example for 15 players: courts 1-3 will each have 5 players.)
Game Format and Scoring:
4 Players: Each player plays a round-robin for a total of 3 games. Each game goes to 11 points, with no two-point difference.
5 Players: Each player plays a round-robin for a total of 4 games. Each game goes to 11 points, with no two-point difference. One player will sit out each game as a “bye”.
At the 15 minute mark of any game, Rally Scoring will begin (points can be scored by both serving and returning teams)
If their are open courts:
Players are free to practice/play on any open courts, if any are available.
Rules: Standard USA Pickle ball Rules apply but staff reserve the right to modify them when needed.
