MODEL UNITED NATIONS Activity Organizer: Mr. Valin Email: matthew.valin@basisindependent.com Dates: Wednesdays Time: 4:00 PM–5:00 PM Grades: 8–12 Cost: Description: Model United Nations simulates the United Nations and gives students opportunities to debate real-world diplomatic affairs ranging from global health to nuclear armament. Model United Nations fosters negotiation, collaboration, research, and public speaking skills. Throughout the school year, students will attend several conferences hosted by local high schools and colleges in the Bay Area. Club meetings would focus on preparing for the dynamic debates and diplomatic situations during these conferences.
