Description
Recommended age: 5-12 years.
These beginners will become comfortable jumping into the water with and without a lifejacket (PFD). They’ll learn how to open their eyes, exhale and hold their breath underwater. Floats, glides and kicking skills are introduced.
Participants are evaluated based on performance criteria and progress to Swimmer 2 once all criteria have been successfully completed.
PLEASE BE ADVISED: Swimmers and parents are to arrive just prior to class starting. There will be no public swim available during swim lesson times. For those with children under 7 years old, a reminder that you will be required to be on deck while your child is in their lesson.
DISCLAIMER: Children must be enrolled in the correct class for their ability. If you are unsure of your child’s swim level, bring them in for a free swim assessment prior to registration. The assessment can be arranged during any public swim session. If your child has been incorrectly enrolled, we reserve the right to withdraw them.
