Book a school skate at the Port Coquitlam Community Centre, fee includes one hour of private ice, skates and helmets, use of 30 skating aids and one on ice staff, use of hockey sticks and nets optional.
New streamlined registration process enables school staff to select a preset day and time, confirm number of participants and then pay by credit card.
Tips:
- Come skating with your buddy class or different grades
- helps maximize rental inventory - Participants are inclusive of students, teachers, SEAs and parents
- One teacher or designated parent minimum must be on ice
- All participants are to wear skates
- Wheelchairs permitted with use of helmet
Booking Information:
- up to 75 participants - $300
- 76 to 100 participants - $75 additional
- no exception due to rental inventory - 30 or less participants, email skating@portcoquitlam.ca for reduced fee
Online Bookings:
- Bookings accepted a minimum of one week in advance
- Sign in or set up an account
- Search School Swim or School Skate to select a date and time
- Confirm participants and add quantity to base fee if applicable
- Pay online via credit card to complete booking
- Cancellations can be made online (min 2 days notice required), or by phone at 604.927.PLAY (7529) or email recreation@portcoquitlam.ca.
Arrival Information:
- Arrive 30 minutes prior to your ice time
- Park underground with access off Mary Hill Road and Kingsway Ave
- Buses can park off Kelly and Kingsway Ave
- Proceed directly to Arena Lobby, access off east side of parkade
- Seat students in Arena Lobby
- Teachers report to Skate Shop to receive next steps
- Attendant greets students and advises students on equipment sizes and facility safety process.
Safety Information:
- Helmets required
- Shorts and bike helmets not permitted
- Personal use of skates and helmets welcome, fee remains the same
- Gloves recommended for young and new skaters
- Use of skating aids require use of helmet.
