SYNOPSIS: In Aristophanes' hilarious comedy "The Birds," two disenchanted Athenians escape the chaos of their city to find a utopia among the birds. They convince the feathered friends to build a magical city in the sky called Cloudcuckooland, where they can rule over both birds and gods! As their wild plans take flight, they encounter a series of absurd characters and hilarious situations, all while poking fun at Athenian society and politics. It's a whimsical romp about ambition, freedom, and the joy of dreaming big! AUDITIONS: Thursday, December 19th from 5PM-8PM Material: Full Audition Packets will be posted on your Google Classroom. Students will perform a monologue from the show and should be ready to perform sides at the audition. Submit your audition form, headshot, and resume on your Google Classroom. REHEARSALS: Every Thursday, 5PM-8PM, January 2-February 6. Additional Rehearsals: Tuesdays, Jan 28 & Feb 4, 5PM-8PM SET BUILD Saturday, February 8th from 10 am-1 pm. This will also be used for additional rehearsal time. All students and one parent per actor are required to attend. TECH WEEK: Sunday-Wednesday, February 9th-12th, 5PM-8PM PERFORMANCES THURSDAY: February 13th @ 7 pm FRIDAY, February 14th @ 7 pm SATURDAY: February 15th @ 2 pm & 7 pm SUNDAY: February 16th @ 3pm (Love Notes @ 12:30p) | Strike after the Sunday show ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Genesis provides costumes—supplemental items & shoes from your wardrobe. Students are required to be present at all rehearsals and shows. Please do not schedule any appointments or events for your student during this rehearsal period. Please send a snack, a personal water bottle, and a pencil each day to rehearsal. Please help your student at home to memorize their lines. Tickets will be available for purchase online.
