Description
Pickleball Small Group Trainings are designed to help players of any level refine their skills in a more individualized setting with a maximum of 4 participants per training..Each lesson will be customized to the participants registered in the session. If you want to work on your drop shot, your serve, or if you are just beginning to play pickleball these trainings will be tailored to your group.
Level of Instruction: Intermediate – Adults
Skills/Fundamentals Learned: Participants will learn:
• Specialty shots and position, more awareness of special shots (ATP, Erne, overheads, and spinning dinks)• Take advantage of attackable balls and position, understanding your own ability to attack balls, spatial awareness of the entire court for shot placement• Shot placement (depth, pace, location based on opponent position)• Serve options (drop serve, spin serve), chainsaw serve (varying depth, pace, and position of service)• Court position options (consistent play from the baseline, consistent play from the transition zone, consistent play from NVZ, choosing appropriate position based on play, choosing approaches based on partnership)• Developing court awareness (movement around the court adapting to play progress, reset shots to permit partnership to regain composure, attacking opponents to force errors)
Instructor: Archie Aquino has played tennis for several years rising to a 5.0 level tennis player. Using her tennis skills, she transitioned to pickleball and is a certified pickleball instructor through the USAPA. She currently serves as one of two pickleball instructors for the Parker Rec Department. Along with English, Archie speaks German and Tagalog/Filipino.
David Lissy has been playing and teaching pickleball for over five years. David has an MA degree in Curriculum and Instruction and has written pickleball curriculum used in his camps and clinics. He grew up in the suburbs west of Chicago playing a multitude of sports including baseball, football, basketball, tennis, golf, table tennis, hockey, swimming, biking and running. David’s claim to fame during this time was winning his grade school’s table tennis championship! David’s main focus for teaching is to pass the enjoyment of the game along to new players.

Equipment: Pickleballs will be supplied. Please bring your racquet, wear tennis shoes, athletic clothing and bring water.
