Description
How do we slow down enough to be present to the ecosystem of which we are a part? This event at Tumwater Falls is an opportunity to practice deepening our sense of this place and our relationship to it. Participants will receive excerpts to read from Henry David Thoreau’s and Linda Hogan’s essays “Walking” before we gather. We will briefly discuss the readings and what they mean to us. We will have an opportunity to walk a portion of the Refuge and directly experience and understand this place more intimately. Using queries and writing prompts, we will spend time reflecting and journaling about our experience. We will close as a group by sharing about our experience. Instructor: Deric Young, Thurston Friends of Trees
