Description
This hands-on class will focus on combining simple book structures to create small art books and journals. You will learn easy bookmaking techniques such as the Japanese stab binding stitch and the ribbon and chopstick book, helping you understand the formal qualities of a book. You’ll also create book covers using a mixed media and collage approach. Most supplies are included. Instructor: Ellen Miffitt
All supplies included. Student may choose to bring additional collage items for decorating the cover. (discarded watercolors or drawings, scraps of paper such as magazine pages, photos, decorative papers, pattern tissue, wrapping papers, decorative paper bags, and embellishments like yarn, string, lace, buttons, beads, wire, fabric scraps, old photos, old letters, postage stamps)
