About this event

Description

Glass etching, once exclusive to professionals, is now accessible to general crafters thanks to etching cream. This fast and inexpensive method allows you to create elegant designs on glass. With a little know-how and the right supplies, you can make beautiful, personalized etched glass pieces perfect for gifts and home decor. The supply list is available online and will be printed on your registration receipt. Note: does not work on Pyrex. Instructor: Ellen Miffitt

Etch Glass Supply list Note: this will not work on Pyrex Pattern: You might want to start with a pattern that does not have a lot of small detail. Clip art and coloring books are wonderful sources for patterns. Glass: Several small glass objects – jar or drinking glass, vases. Utility Knife: Cut your pattern out of the contact paper using a utility knife. Rubber Gloves: Protect your hands from the acid in the etching cream. It is also a good idea to wear eye protection and a long sleeve shirt. This will not work on Pyrex.
