Description
Awareness through Movement classes are voice guided movement lessons that improve the way the brain and the body communicate with each other. The movements are slow, gentle, and easy with emphasis on comfort, ease, and efficient use of effort. The lessons improve your nervous system's ability to sense, feel, think and act. Each lesson has a human function in mind: from basic activities like rolling, standing, walking: to more complex ideas like balancing, the spinal curves, diversifying breathing, or use of the eyes in movement. The only physical requirement is the ability to get up and down from the floor, but they can be modified for a chair if needed.
This is a four-week class, with lessons on Saturday mornings. Lessons typically last 45-50 minutes.
