6 Tuesdays, July 23 - September 3, 6:30-8:30pm (last two classes are until 9pm) 7: Figure Drawing Techniques Taught by Michele Tilford, Ages 15+ $212 Members / $233 Non-Members My philosophy about making art in general is that it should be fun. By mixing a blend of traditional drawing and less conventional techniques using charcoal on newsprint to capture the figure, I hope to make the figure less intimidating. We will cover: capturing gestures a great warm up and helpful for people interested in animation. Working from live models (we will model for each other, and 2 classes will have a professional model and work from reference materials) proportions, anatomy, foreshortening, and portraiture. Exploring different types of drawing from contour, sketching and tonal. The last two classes we will work with professional (semi nude…think bathing suit) models. Demonstrations of how to see and capture the image and individual attention will be stressed. Materials Needed: 18x24 newsprint pad Drawing board big enough for pad Bulldog clips to hold pad to board Vine charcoal Charcoal pencils 6B (2) Kneaded eraser Utility knife, snap blade, or mat knife
