Spanish course for health professionals
- Requires a level of A2.
This course provides healthcare professionals and students with a comprehensive immersion into the medical field through the Spanish language. Throughout the lessons, participants will delve into key medical topics, from specific terminology to effective communication with Spanish-speaking patients. Essential concepts in health, diagnosis, and treatment will be addressed, all presented in a linguistic context that enhances communication skills in clinical settings. With a focus on practical oral interaction and specialized exercises, this course will equip participants with the linguistic and professional tools needed to excel in the Spanish-speaking medical domain.
Biodata
Lorena García is Spanish lecturer at Columbia University. She received her PhD in Hispanic linguistics from The Graduate Center of The City University of New York. Currently, she is also collaborating as teacher at the Instituto Cervantes New York. Her work has been published in international magazines and has been invited as keynote speaker at several international conferences.
- Required book and workbook can be purchased at time of registration. Books can be picked up at the Registration Office on the 2nd floor.
