About this event
This class is an introduction to Italian language and culture with a focus on showcasing just how much Italian is around us every day! While learning language is core to the class, having fun while we learn is just as important because at this age level, the goal is not proficiency in a language, but rather developing a positive experience which hopefully encourages children to consider learning a language when they are older. There will be two classes spread throughout the course where we watch a portion of the Disney movie, “Luca”, followed by discussions of all the “Italianisms” we observe. This is intended to feel like a celebration of what the children have learned, but also gives them opportunities to put all their new knowledge to work in a different way. By the end of this class, students should be able to introduce themselves in Italian, have a strong foundation in the most common Italian phrases and vocabulary, and impress their parents by ordering gelato in Italian!
