01. AGING RIOJA (Thursday, April 3)
Rioja red wines are dominated by Tempranillo, a grape that delivers young fruity wines with early appeal as well as reds with decades-long aging potential. For well over a century, the traditional Reservas and Gran Reservas from Rioja have proven their capacity to evolve and improve for decades. In the last thirty years, powerful, tannic and concentrated modern reds emerged. And recently, a new approach to geographical differentiation is also taking shape in the region. In this seminar we will examine the aging potential of the different styles of Rioja wines.
