Description: An Introduction to Art Appreciation: Challenging Our View of the Arts (6-Week Course) Unlock the profound impact of art on your mind with our condensed six-week course, "An Introduction to Art Appreciation: Challenging Our View of the Arts." In this version, we will spend the first two weeks exploring the extensive and foundational section on Methodology from Alain de Botton’s "Art as Therapy," followed by four weeks covering the key themes of Love, Nature, Money, and Politics. This course dives deep into the philosophical, psychological, and social dimensions of art appreciation, helping you understand how art can influence and reflect the world around us. Through rich discussions, multimedia analysis, and reflective exercises, this course offers a comprehensive exploration of how we perceive and appreciate art, while engaging with supplemental texts and media such as John Berger’s "Ways of Seeing."
