German language competency required to enroll in German B1: Intermediate – Fall Semester: Understanding: The language learner should be able to describe people and objects with a simple sentence structure. The language learner will gain vocabulary in the field of leisure activities, job seeking, living together, festivities and family life. Speaking: The language learner should be able to have longer, but simple conversations in the field of the following topics such as leisure activities, job seeking, living together, festivities and family. Reading: The language learner should be able to read more complex articles related to the topics in the workbook. Introduced topics include leisure activities, job seeking, living together, and festivities and family. Writing: The language learner should be able to write sentences with the use of the proper Grammar at the A2 skill level. Letters and texts are approximately one page or less. Grammar: The language learner can apply adjective declination, reflexive pronoun, W-Fragen (questions), prepositional verbs.
