Female-Empowerment-Workshop

Empower yourself physically, mentally, and emotionally with our new comprehensive Empowerment Workshop designed specifically for female teens and adults. This workshop is a unique blend of self-defense skills training and essential knowledge about menstrual care, aiming to equip participants with the tools and confidence they need to navigate the challenges of modern life. Each participant will have the opportunity to build and take home a menstrual kit containing washable, disposable, and menstrual cup options, along with underwear, washcloths, soap, and a fun drawstring bag.

Waivers through IMPACT and Days for Girls are required to participate in this event. These waivers will be emailed to you after your registration. Those under the age of 18 must have a form signed by a parent or guardian.
Workshop Schedule:5-5:15 p.m. Check-In & Welcome
5:15-6:15 p.m. IMPACT Empowerment 101 ClassIn this class, you will learn to listen to your inner alarm bells, practice threat assessment and use assertive body language, practice “self-defense voice," using language that can alert yourself, the attacker and bystanders, practice setting boundaries through internal boundary recognition, body language and the use of verbal skills, learn two powerful physical strikes to the face and groin, and understand the importance of adrenaline management and early boundary setting in both acquaintance and stranger interactions.
6:15-6:45 p.m. Days For Girls PresentationDays for Girls is working to turn periods into pathways. They increase access to menstrual care and education by developing global partnerships, cultivating social enterprises, mobilizing volunteers and innovating sustainable solutions that shatter stigma and limitations for women and girls. Learn about your menstrual cycle, ways to stay safe, and more.
6:45-7:30 p.m. Build-Your-Own Menstrual Kit & Ask-A-DoctorEach participant will have the opportunity to build and take home a menstrual kit containing washable, disposable, and menstrual cup options, along with underwear, washcloths, soap, and a fun drawstring bag. In addition, this will be a safe space to ask anonymous health-related questions, which will be answered by an on-site medical professional.
