"Come with me and you'll be in a Break Camp of pure imagination..." Spend your mid-winter break with YTN doing the best thing ever: a jam-packed, fun-filled, theatrical whirlwind! Everyone is cast and everyone learns, rehearsals, and performs a show...in a week. A musical in five days? Yes, it can be done! Break camps culminate with a short performance at 3:00 pm on the last day. Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka KIDS follows enigmatic candy manufacturer Willy Wonka as he stages a contest by hiding golden tickets in five of his scrumptious candy bars. Whomever comes up with these tickets will win a free tour of the Wonka factory, as well as a lifetime supply of candy. Four of the five winning children are insufferable brats, but the fifth is a likeable young lad named Charlie Bucket, who takes the tour in the company of his equally amiable grandfather. The children must learn to follow Mr. Wonka's rules in the factory — or suffer the consequences. Break camp students should be sent to YTN with a packed lunch and two snacks that do not need to be in a refrigerator or microwaved.
