About this event
Experiment with new materials by recycling package cartons into plates for printmaking. Commonly used for milk, juice, soup, and more, Tetra-Pak cartons allow printmakers to benefit from each layered material; this class will introduce students to printing basics, especially overlays and combination of layers. By cutting shape, incising lines, and peeling layers, students can mimic other printmaking techniques like drypoint and aquatint. Utilizing the specific materials, guided instruction, and a bit of imagination, students can utilize these plates to create printed cards, posters, and more. Collaborations within the class, including print exchanges, can then assist in developing and refining personal sense of design. All experience levels are welcome. The printmaking studio utilizes non-toxic materials; all students are asked to review the 2024-25 printmaking studio guidelines provided in a Welcome Email ahead of their first class in the space.
