This activity is closed to further registration.
Ever want to take the kids fishing but don't want the hassle of untangling the fishing poles, getting out all the equipment or buying the bait. The Iowa City Parks and Recreation is hosting try-it fishing nights at Lower City Park. (A parent or guardian is required to assist the participant)
Parent/Guardian: Participants will need to be supervised by a parent or guardian. Only child will need to enroll.
Equipment: Poles, Bait and Tackle will be provided.
Shelter Location: Shelter 7 is located NE of the ponds at lower city park/
Cancellations: Cancellations due to weather or wet fields will be posted on the ICPRD Rainout Line at least 1-hour prior to the start of lessons. Participants are encouraged to register to receive cancellation emails or text messages. To sign up to receive cancellation message, visit www.icgov.org/pr click on “event cancellations” located on the right side. This will take you to the Rainout Line. On the left side click on “email & text alerts”. Please select “Rec Division Outdoor Special Event”, ext #40.
Catch and Release: This is a catch and release event.
Fishing License- All participants 16 years and older must have a current fishing license .
