Description
As a designated International Dark Sky Community, the Village of Hawthorn Woods invites you to enjoy the lovely night sky while exploring the joys of stargazing. All ages and families are welcome! In this program, you will learn how to operate a telescope, about night sky navigation and preservation, how to identify the constellations and planets, as well as discuss the impact of light pollution. This class will be held outside just after sunset at Community Park, atop the sled hill. Handouts will accompany the class to reinforce information discussed. One registration fee per family. Instructed by Jim Stewart, local astronomical enthusiast. Please feel free to bring along your binoculars!
